A Hawaii Destination Wedding Photographer captures pictures that could be scenes from a postcard. The wedding of Elyse Butler and Matt Mallams took place in Hawaii on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. The couple said “I do” on Oahu in the island’s main city of Honolulu. The bride and groom were married in a beautiful beach ceremony on Waikiki Beach, with the incredible Hawaiian scenery serving as a backdrop for their celebration. This photograph was taken after the ceremony, as the newlyweds walked along the shore for portraits. For many of the pictures taken during this time, I stayed back as Elyse and Matt strolled along under the bright Hawaiian sun. Doing this allowed the bride and groom to feel as though they had some privacy and I was able to capture some touching, candid moments. This image is one of my favorites from a day that provided me with ample opportunities to take thousands of gorgeous photos as Elyse and Matt’s Hawaii Destination Wedding Photographer. This photograph looks almost like a watercolor painting, with the varying shades of blue from the ocean and sky swirling about one another as they melt into the beige of the sand. The waves of the ocean lazily flow toward the shore, while above clouds float through the sky like giant swaths of cotton. The bride and groom stand on the beach a few feet away from the ocean, with the rolling sea and open sky filling up the space that surrounds them. They are two tiny figures, standing on the edge of a brilliant, love-filled future.
