New York Botanical Gardens Wedding

A New York Botanical Gardens Wedding is a natural oasis in the midst of a bustling city. Located in the Bronx, the 250-acre site is covered by verdant lawns and supports over one million plants from a myriad of collections. The garden is more than just a New York City attraction and National Historic Landmark, it also serves as a major educational institution. The New York Botanical Gardens teaches more than 1,000,000 people annually about plant science, ecology, and healthy eating. The gardens also operate one of the world’s largest plant research and conservation programs, advocating for plant life and green living even as it is surrounded by an urban metropolis. The New York Botanical Gardens Wedding of Jonathan and Sara was an event worthy of such a remarkable venue. The wedding, which took place in early September of 2011, was a magical occasion for all in attendance. In this image, the bride, Sara, is being escorted down the aisle by her mother and father to join her husband, who waits before her. Guests look on adoringly from the white lawn chairs that line the stone walkway of the aisle. Pale, ivory flower petals, left by the flower girl, are scattered over the stones that the bride and her parents walk upon. Sara’s parents grin proudly, each with an arm linked through that of their daughter. In this moment they are filled with joy and love for this young woman. They helped her take her first steps into childhood, and now they are helping her take her first steps into marriage.
