Barn Weddings in CT

With miles of agricultural land stretching out from the built-up coastline, Connecticut has more preserved farmland than one might expect. And that means that there are plenty of barn weddings in CT. When choosing a barn venue, here are a few factors to consider:

  • Ease of access for guests. Is there enough parking? Are there clear driving directions? Are there nearby overnight accommodations?
  • Temperature and time of year. Vintage barns weren’t built with modern amenities like HVAC systems. If you want to get married in January, make sure your venue has heating.
  • Other features of the property. You might find the perfect barn, but what about the surrounding outdoor space? Do you want an outdoor ceremony space? Will you be able to find scenic backdrops for your photos?

These are just a few items to consider when planning barn weddings in CT. And here are just a few of the many unique, lovely barn wedding venues in Connecticut:

Webb – Dean – Stevens Museum - 211 Main Street, Wethersfield, CT

A wedding venue for over fifty years, the Webb Barn welcomes couples tying the knot from April to November each year. The historic barn holds up to 135 guests. Ceremonies can be set up on the lawn. The venue provides plentiful parking and lawn games are allowed. For a rustic wedding, The Webb Barn is a popular choice for a reason.

The Barn at Allen Hill Farm - 502 Allen Hill Rd, Brooklyn, CT

A family-owned Christmas Tree Farm, the Allen Hill property’s centerpiece is the barn. Featuring traditional post and beam construction, the barn seats up to 150 guests for weddings year-round. A full-service catering space has been added to ensure your guests get their food served properly. Ceremonies can be held on the lawn. A gigantic boulder adds a fun, rustic element to photos.

The Dudley Farm - 2351 Durham Rd, Guilford, CT

This family farm dates from the 19th century. The heart of the property is the Munger Barn – well over 120 years old, the barn is available for weddings and seats up to 85 guests. Once located on the property of the Munger Lumber Company, it was moved and reconstructed on the Dudley farm to provide a fantastic space for weddings and events.  A lower floor provides more space, and is also heated for cold-weather events.
