Wedding at the Housing Works Bookstore

A Wedding at the Housing Works Bookstore is an occasion that couples and their guests will hold in their hearts for years to come. Housing Works in an organization that is dedicated to providing those living with HIV/AIDS with life saving services such as housing, primary care, job training, and legal help. One hundred percent of the revenue that Housing Works makes from their social enterprises goes toward changing the lives of people in need for the better. A Wedding Housing Works Bookstore is both an excellent choice for an intimate wedding celebration and it is a contribution toward aiding the Housing Works community. Bride and groom Amy and Robert were one couple who chose to hold their wedding day at the Housing Works Bookstore Cafe. The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony and reception took place on July 20, 2012 in the heart of New York City. This photograph from their special day shows the small details that made it a truly magical event. In the picture, a handcrafted wooden box is set against the plain white background of a tablecloth. Inside the box is delicate white pillow, with two rings tied to it. These rings will soon adorn the fingers of the bride and groom as they become husband and wife, but for now they sit safely in their box awaiting that moment. The rings are secured around the pillow with a thin white ribbon, and on the ribbon words are printed in purple ink. The words belong to one of the couple’s favorite quotes, by an author they both love. The image is symbolic, of the love the bride and groom have for one another, and of the love they share for written words.
