Orthodox Jewish Wedding in Philadelphia

An Orthodox Jewish Wedding in Philadelphia is a special event filled with tradition, celebration, and love. The Orthodox Jewish Wedding in Philadelphia of Daniella and Sam took place on a beautiful summer day in 2010, on the property owned by Daniella’s father. The ceremony and reception were both held on this estate, which was located just outside the city of Philadelphia. This photograph was taken on the couple’s wedding day, just before the outdoor marriage ceremony. The picture shows the bride, Daniella, standing in her childhood bedroom, surrounded by sentimental tokens of her past. Daniella’s room is filled with floral patterns, a large four-post canopy bed, dolls and stuffed animals from her youth, and framed pictures that document her years as a teenager. At the center of this space, Danielle stands in contemplation, now a grown woman, creating a new memory in this room that holds so much of her personal history. The items from her past seem to fade in the light of the sun that streams in through the windows. The sunlight creates a hazy filter over the images in the room and it brushes over the bride, giving her an almost ethereal glow. Daniella stands poised, ready for the events of the day in her elegant wedding gown, and in her hands she holds her Hebrew bible. She reads from select pages in the bible, breathing in the words as she prepares for her wedding day. The photo is symbolic of the bride leaving her childhood home and embarking on this new chapter in her life. It also depicts a moment that focuses on the religious aspects of the day, and the important role that faith plays in the relationship shared by Daniella and Sam.
