This gallery of portrait photography shows examples of all the portraits I have been able to photograph throughout my career. As a New York, Connecticut and Boston portrait photographer, I first look for light and color. I have mastered this craft over the past fifteen years photographing portraits of doctors to professional athletes to businessmen to celebrities. I have photographed portraits in more than 25 countries.
Colors, texture, light, character, light, expression, the eyes, moment, composition, all make a memorable portrait. It is a lot of luck and patience. A great portrait is wanting to know more about that person. It is surprising and insightful for the viewer. I specialize in individual portraits or corporate portraits and portrait photography in advertising or for editorial publication.
It comes down to trust. The trust to let me use my vision to photograph you. You will see throughout my portraits, my assignment work, my wedding photography, that I have the trust of who I am photographing. That innate ability comes from photographing thousands of people, thousands of assignments, and millions of photographs.
Before photographing we discuss what I want the photo to say and what you want it to say. A collaboration. I let the lighting dictate that. We don’t have to wait for the right light. We can create it. I use my background as a documentary photographer using natural light guide my portraiture. I recreate the quality of light I have seen thousands of times in every imaginable situation.
